I'm having trouble finding a job?
I'm about to be 35 and I've never held a job. In order to make something of myself I went back to school at 32, and began working steadily at 33.5 years old. I worked for 15 months until I graduated and moved in December of 09 after receiving my bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. I graduated with a high GPA, but I'm unable to find a job in the new city I've moved to. I only have one other job, and one that was for 3 months on my resume. I've done other things, but haven't worked steadily since 1995. How can I get a job? I should be approved for grad school, I submitted my materials last week. I'm very intelligent, I just made mistakes in my past and now nobody will give me a chance. What are your suggestions? My career counselor tells me that I'm just in the same boat as a 24 year old who recently graduated college, not a lot of experience but has a degree. The only difference between the two of us is our age. So, they should have no more advantage over me. She says I'm just insecure. What do you think? I've been out of work now for 3 months, and only had 2 interviews. I'm worried about my future.
