Anyone have examples of how to write a letter for a fundraiser?

We are having a benefit for the daughter of a man we knew. I am looking for an example or two of the letters that are sent to local business' asking for any donations. Such as gift cards, products, monetary donations etc. This is really important and I am hoping that someone has something I can look at. Thank you in advance
