Acne products while pregnant?

im pregnant and i break out when i eat junk food (chips, fries, anything fried or greasy) well i got a really bad breakout right now. i want to use my regular face wash and pimple cream. i have read that using acne products can cause birth defects, but my doc didnt mention anything. i usually use Neutrogena's pink gfruit cleanser which contains salyclic acid and Acne free terminator pimple cream, which hasbenzoyl peroxide. is it safe to use durning my pregnancy?
